International Student Program

The students who are considered for admission are:

  • Academically Capable 
    Achieving an average of at least a "C" grade in academic classes in the present school year.
  • Behaviorally Cooperative 
    Willing to comply with the rules and standards set forth by WCS and in good standing in their current school.
  • Spiritually Interested
    Respect for the Bible as God's word. Understand this is a Christian school with a Bible based curriculum. Bible is a required course of study and Chapel is a weekly requirement for all students.

This school is authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant students.

Step 1 - Complete and submit the following:

Step 2 - Interviews & English Assessment

  • Contact Mrs.Hargadon to arrange for SLEP testing or submit TOEFL scores
  • Student interviews with principal/administrator via webcam or Skype
  • Host family and/or sponsor interview with principal/administrator
  • Submit completed Guardianship Authorization form

 

Step 3 - Acceptance and Issuance of I-20

  • Upon acceptance, the student and family will be notified by the school.
  • To complete registration, a registration fee of $400 must be submitted.
  • The school will complete an I-20 form and give it to the United States guardian.
  • The Guardian is responsible for sending the I-20 to the students' parents.
  • When the parents receive the I-20, they must apply for an F-1 visa for the student.
  • Once an F-1 visa is received, fax or email a copy to Woodland Christian School (Fax: 530-406-0900, email: bookkeeper@woodlandchristian.org)

Step 4 - Fees, Travel Plans and Original Documents

  • Notify the school of the student arrival date.
  • Tuition and Student fees must be paid before student attends class.
  • Student must bring their immunization records and proof of medical insurance (if the student needs international medical insurance, see http://www.internationalstudentinsurance.com or www.imglobal.com
  • Student and guardian must meet with school counselor at least one day before student can begin classes.
  • High school students must bring official transcripts (translated into English), including 9th grade coursework, before student can be enrolled in classes.
